Veronica Western, M.S., RMHI

Veronica Western, MS, is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, currently working towards her licensure as an LMHC. She received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University (FIU). While pursuing her degree at FIU, Ms. Western completed her practicum and internship at Pediatric Psychology Associates, where she helped facilitate the Social Understanding and Relationship Fundamentals (SURF) groups, provided consultation at the Headache Clinic in collaboration with NeuroNetwork Partners, and offered Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for individuals with chronic headache pain, as well as anxiety-based disorders. She has experience working with patients of various ages as part of The Social Cog where she provides social skills training to help with the development of meaningful relationships. She has clinical experience supervising and coordinating an after-school treatment program for children of various ages with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Ms. Western co-facilitated parent groups and provided in-home support for those families. Her populations of interest include children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders and other developmental delays, anxiety, and social-emotional challenges. She co-facilitates the SURF Group program in Weston and South Miami. Additionally, Ms. Western provides individual therapy to clients with chronic migraines, internalizing disorders, social skills deficits, and emotional regulation challenges.
