What is SPACE?
SPACE stands for Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions, a program designed by Eli Lebowitz, Ph.D. from Yale University's Child Study Center. It's an eight-session intervention aimed at helping children overcome problematic anxiety. Extensive research has been conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the SPACE program. To facilitate SPACE sessions, individuals must have completed the rigorous SPACE Training program. Fortunately, many of our clinicians at PPA have undergone this training, enabling us to extend the benefits of SPACE to our community in South Florida. As SPACE intervention involves only parents or caregivers, our team of SPACE-trained psychologists can provide these specialized services through telehealth or in office
