Veronica Western, MS, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at Barry University. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University (FIU). During her graduate training, Ms. Western completed her practicum and internship at Pediatric Psychology Associates, where she co-facilitated the Social Understanding and Relationship Fundamentals (SURF) groups, collaborated with NeuroNetwork Partners at the Headache Clinic, and provided Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for individuals with chronic headache pain and anxiety-based disorders.
She has extensive experience delivering social skills training through The Social Cog, supporting the development of meaningful peer relationships, and has supervised and coordinated the After-school Treatment Program for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In these roles, Ms. Western also co-facilitated parent groups and provided in-home family support.
Currently, Ms. Western serves as the lead facilitator for the SURF program out of the Miami Beach office, where she specializes in social-emotional learning, anxiety, and behavioral regulation. She provides both in-person and telehealth therapy for children and adolescents presenting with OCD, anxiety disorders, ADHD, chronic migraines, social skills challenges, emotion regulation difficulties, and more. Ms. Western provides telehealth and in-person services out of the Miami Beach and Weston offices.
