Isabel Hernandez, MS, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who provides group and individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. She is a bilingual clinician, fluent in English and Spanish, and holds a Master’s Degree from Florida International University (FIU). Her clinical interests include autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, ADHD, ODD, anger management, anxiety, OCD, and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs). Additionally, Ms. Hernandez has experience working with nonverbal clients and implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to teach functional communication training and reduce challenging and self-injurious behaviors in children with ASD and related disorders.
Ms. Hernandez is committed to providing evidence-based treatment and has experience in various therapeutic approaches, including Social Thinking, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Ms. Hernandez facilitates the SURF and PEERS group programs in the South Miami location, providing evidence-based social skills training interventions to children and teens. In addition, she actively collaborates with schools to provide essential support to teachers and students in managing behavior, navigating social conflict, and addressing other socio-emotional needs. Ms. Hernandez works out of the South Miami location and provides individual and family support to clients with emotional regulation challenges, social skills deficits, executive functioning difficulties, and behavioral concerns. She provides services both in-person and via telehealth.
