Dr. Laura Grashow

Dr. Laura Grashow (Rywell) is a licensed Psychologist in New York, Florida, Connecticut, and through PsyPact, with more than 25 years of experience in the field. Over the course of her career, she has worked extensively with families, couples, adults, and children, developing expertise in treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, and parenting challenges, including parenting through divorce. Before embarking on her clinical career, Dr. Grashow was a classroom teacher in both the NYC Public School System and in Miami, Florida. This teaching background significantly enhances her work with children, adolescents, and college students, particularly when addressing ADHD, ASD, learning differences, and executive function issues.

Dr. Grashow is known for her warm, interactive, and flexible approach to therapy. She values collaboration and offers strong problem-solving skills, always aiming to deeply understand the issues her clients face. Her therapeutic style is rooted in empathy, and she strives to create a supportive and attentive environment for those she works with. Dr. Grashow is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Family Therapy. Much of her clinical work is also grounded in Attachment Theory, which examines how early experiences shape present-day emotional styles and assumptions.

Dr. Grashow believes the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful agent of change, recognizing that while training and tools are crucial, it is often the strength of the therapeutic bond that drives growth and healing. Her practice is located in Ridgefield, Connecticut, though she provides virtual therapy to clients in New York, Florida, Connecticut, and PsyPact States. Dr. Grashow currently serves as the Past President of the Cognitive Behavioral Division of the New York State Psychological Association.
