Dr. Alexandria Gonzalez is a bilingual Licensed Psychologist specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. She provides evidence-based care in both English and Spanish for a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. These include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress management, social challenges, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders (OCD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and adjustment to life transitions. Dr. Gonzalez also has expertise in behavioral medicine, supporting individuals and families coping with conditions, like chronic pain, sleep difficulties, gastrointestinal distress, weight management, and cancer. She employs a patient-centered, integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT). She is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment where goal setting is tailored to each patient, leading to meaningful and lasting outcomes.
In addition, Dr. Gonzalez has a strong focus on supporting mothers during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Combining her extensive clinical experience with advanced training from Postpartum Support International (PMH-C) and her personal experience as a mother, she provides compassionate, practical, and evidence-based maternal mental health care. Her services help mothers navigate challenges such as anxiety, postpartum mood changes, intrusive thoughts, and the transition to parenthood, while fostering confidence, emotional well-being, and stronger family connections.
Dr. Gonzalez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Miami, followed by her Master of Science and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her doctoral internship at the University of Florida and a postdoctoral fellowship at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital. As a graduate of the Pain Reprocessing
Therapy Certification Training, she is one of a select few clinicians in South Florida qualified to provide this specialized treatment for chronic pain.
Currently, Dr. Gonzalez provides in-person services at the Hollywood/Behavioral Medicine and Weston locations. She is a PsyPACT-authorized provider, offering telehealth services across Florida and all PsyPACT-participating states.
