Speech-Language Evaluations

Speech-language pathology services at PPA include comprehensive and targeted evaluations that assess key areas of communication, such as speech sound production, oral-motor skills, language development, social communication, literacy (reading and writing), and feeding challenges. Findings are summarized in a detailed report, which can be shared with healthcare providers, employers, or other relevant parties involved in supporting the individual’s care and communication goals.

If therapy is recommended following an evaluation, our licensed speech-language pathologist will develop a personalized plan of care based on the individual’s specific needs and goals. In most cases, follow-up therapy can be provided by the same clinician who completed the evaluation, ensuring continuity of care. For adults pursuing services through insurance or other third-party funding sources, a comprehensive evaluation by a licensed speech-language pathologist is often required. As such, our evaluations serve as a critical first step in accessing both private and externally funded speech-language therapy services.

Speech-Language Interventions

When a speech-language concern is identified, our licensed speech-language pathologist develops a personalized plan of care tailored to the individual's specific needs, goals, and daily communication demands. Therapy may be recommended in either an individual or group format, with frequency and format determined collaboratively based on what will best support meaningful progress.

We value a collaborative approach that includes coordination with family members, partners, or caregivers when appropriate, while also respecting each adult client’s preferences and autonomy. For those who benefit from support at home or in daily life, post-session guidance and strategies can be provided to promote continued progress between sessions. Consistent attendance and engagement are key to achieving lasting outcomes and building communication confidence across settings.
