Melissa Balgobin is a graduate from Barry University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is currently completing her Thesis on the Perceived Stress and Coping Styles of Parents with Children with Autism to receive a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. She completed her Psychology Internship during the Summer of 2011 and her Clinical Practicum (2011-2012) at Pediatric Psychology Associates. Ms. Balgobin has assisted with the Social Skills/Social Understanding Group Program, as well as therapeutic summer camps at the Aventura and Coral Springs locations, as well as our inclusion Summer Camps at Sunrise Academy. She has academic training and professional experience working with children with social, emotional and behavioral difficulties, including those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Anxiety, etc. She also works in the Miami-Dade County School system teaching Advanced Placement Psychology and Inter Baccalaureate Psychology at Miami Beach Senior High School. Ms. Balgobin co-facilitates our Social Skills/Social Understanding Group Program in the South Miami location and facilitates the therapeutic summer camps in all our office locations.
